Today, if a traveller books a hotel and flight, two virtual cards are created, one for each booking. Conferma Pay historically had no way to identify that both bookings/cards were part of a single trip.
Trips is a new Conferma Pay service that uses artificial intelligence to automatically identify a travellers Hotel and Flight bookings that can be grouped into a Trip. We can then combine the spend of these bookings and present the the total cost of the trip.
Automatic Trip Creation
Hotel and Air Deployments are automatically linked together where the travellers email address is present on the Deployment.
Conferma Pay also uses the hotel location, flight destination and travel dates to group the bookings appropriately.
The city name of the hotel or destination airport is used as the name of the trip. If Conferma Pay cannot identify a city from the booking details, we will simply use the hotel or supplier name.
Conferma Pay has created Trips for all Conferma Pay App user’s bookings for the past two years and we’ve been creating Trips for all Deployments since January 2019.
Your bookings are assigned to a Trip within 30 seconds of being created.
Manually Link a Virtual Card
Users of the Conferma Pay App can create new trips and manually assign any of their virtual cards to a new or existing trip.
By linking other deployments, such as a virtual card used to pay for a train ticket or for on the go expenses, we can truly provide a total cost of a trip. We’ll even align all the transactions into our trip timeline to so you can see your activity in real-time.
Can’t find your virtual card booking in the App? This usually happens when the corporate email address you have registered with the App is missing from the data sent to Conferma Pay. To help with this issue we’re introducing Link Booking to allow you to search for your Hotel or Air booking where a Conferma Pay virtual card was used to pay for the service.
Simply tap into Trips, using the suitcase icon on the home screen, and tap the Link Booking button at the bottom of the screen. You’ll be prompted to answer a number of questions to gain access to your booking.
For added security, this feature is only available to users who register for the App using their corporate email account (@mycompany.com) and that corporate email domain has been linked to the Card Pool. This feature is not available to Users who register with public email accounts such as @gmail.com or @hotmail.com. Contact Conferma Pay staff for more information.
Digital Wallet – Local Currency
Travelling abroad? You can now view your real-time available balance in the local currency of your destination.
Previously you could only see your balance in the deployment currency, this caused issues when trying to understand how much you had available in the local currency. You can now easily view an indicative amount in the local currency of your destination by tapping the currency symbols next to your Available Balance.
Note that the local amount displayed is an indicative amount using a daily rate from XE.com and should be used as a guide only.
Digital Wallet – Ring-fenced Transactions
Tapping into the tube? We now automatically ring-fence funds from your balance when travelling with mass transport systems, such a Transport for London, to ensure you don’t go over your allowance.
Mass transit systems charge a single fee at the end of a days travelling, this means there was scope for you to accidentally go over your spend allowance. When Conferma Pay see you tap into a mass transport system, we place a temporary hold of funds on your card to ensure you stay within your limit. Once your card is changed at the end of the day, we will return the difference to your available balance.
Digital Wallet – Decline Reasons
It’s never nice when your card is declined, but we’re hoping this new feature will help you understand why. Conferma Pay are introducing real-time decline notifications stating the exact reason we declined your transaction. We will also display the declined transaction within the app for you to view at any time.
Common reasons for declined transactions include a lack of funds and trying to use your digital wallet card too early, or after it has expired.
