We have introduced Multi Factor Authentication (MFA) to Conferma Pay products. This adds a layer of protection to the sign-in process. When MFA is enabled, you will be required to provide additional identity verification in the form of a time-based one-time passcode.
When Multi Factor Authentication (MFA) has been enabled, you will be prompted to set it up at the first time login. We have illustrated this process here using Conferma Pay Online, but the log in process for MFA is consistent across all Conferma Pay products.
-
You will be presented with the option to download the Conferma Pay App, and you can also click to use your own authenticator app.
-
If you click to use your own authenticator, you will be presented with a QR code to scan.
-
Click View supported apps to see a list of compatible apps.
-
If you are unable to scan the QR Code, click the Unable to scan the QR code? link to get a manual key to enter. Enter this into the authenticator app, then click Continue.
-
Enter the code from your authenticator app and click Verify.
-
A confirmation message will be displayed. Click Continue to complete your login.
Until you set up MFA, you will follow the existing login process which uses a memorable word. Once MFA is set up, you will no longer need to enter characters from your memorable word. Once MFA is set up, the Forgotten Password process also uses a time-based one-time passcode in place of the security question and answer and your memorable word.
If you are a Conferma Pay App user with MFA enabled, the app will automatically include a new ‘Authenticator’ menu option when you are logged in to the app with the same username and password that you use to log in to the Conferma Pay web portals. This Authenticator option is not visible to any app users who have not started the MFA set-up process. The passcode will refresh every 30 seconds, and a countdown timer is displayed to indicate how long is left before the code will refresh.

You can also use a 3rd-party authenticator. Click View supported apps at MFA setup to see a list of supported 3rd-party authenticators.

The exact amount of time that an authentication code remains valid is controlled by the third-party authenticator. Although all passcodes are only valid for a short window of time, depending on the authenticator you choose, the passcode may remain valid for longer than 30 seconds. The exact expiry time is controlled by the third-party authenticator.
Note
Conferma Pay is unable to provide support relating to 3rd-party authentication apps. If you need assistance with setting up or using any 3rd-party authenticator, please refer to the provider's support documentation. For example, if you are using Google Authenticator, please refer to Google's support documentation for any assistance.
If you have already set up MFA and want to change your authenticator, you will need to request for your account to be reset by one of the following:
-
Conferma Pay Support
-
Corporate Administrator
-
Issuer Administrator
The next time you log in after your account has been reset, you will be required to complete the MFA set-up process again, and you can select your preferred authenticator.
You can download our Quick Guide to MFA as a PDF file using the link at the bottom of the page.
